Cabinet of Ministers Reduced Migrant Quota Significantly
Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers reduced migrant quota significantly in 2019, RBK-Ukraine informs with reference to the relevant documents.
According to the decision, 3,768 foreigners will be able to stay for permanent residence in Ukraine in 2019. It should be noted that the quota was reduced by 620 persons in comparison with 2018.
Thus, the number of migrant workers of science and culture is 280 persons, number of highly skilled specialists is 4 persons, number of relatives of the citizens of Ukraine is 2,945, and the number of the members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (3 years and more) – 41 person.
Moreover, migration for investors who contributed at least $100,000 into the country’s economy is unlimited.
During the meeting of the Government, the representative of the Federation of Employers has criticize severely the quota of 4 highly skilled specialists. Meanwhile, the Minister of Social Policy Andrii Reva offered to cancel quotas for this category of migrants. As a result, the PM Volodymyr Groysman ordered to elaborate the document.
