IHRPEX to visit Paris for international conference
On October 10-11 Institute of human rights and prevention of extremism and xenophobia will visit INACH annual conference dedicated to actual problems of hate speech in Internet.
The conference "Virtual Citizenship and Social Responsibility" is hosted by International League against Rasicm and Antisemitism (LICRA), French member of INACH.
Representatives of internet corporations such as Google and Facebook, media representatives, and human rights experts will take part in the event.
"The Internet is an ideal platform from which to propagate hate anonymously and a lawless venue, where the most fanatic groups and individuals can act without fear and with impunity" is said in the statement by Philippe Schmidt, chairman of INACH and Vice-President of LICRA. "Today, INACH proposes an innovative approach, based on the notion of “virtual citizenship” and social responsibility among all Internet actors - from the industry to everyday users – drawing on the models of “eco-citizenship” and “ecological responsibility.”
IHRPEX is a member of International Network Against Cyberhate (INACH) since 2011. INACH unites organizations from 19 countries which fight racism in Internet and promote tolerance.
