Summit “Experience of Ukraine for the World”
The Institute of Human Rights and Prevention of Extremism and Xenophobia is the initiator of holding of the Summit of the leaders of national and cultural communities and religious societies “Experience of Ukraine for the World”, devoted to the 20th anniversary of adoption by the UN General Assembly of the Declaration on the Rights of Persons Belonging to National or Ethnic, Religious and Linguistic Minorities, in the city of Kyiv in the building of the National Palace of Arts “Ukraine” this October 2.
The heads of the state executive authorities of Ukraine, representatives of the UN, the PACE, the OSCE, diplomatic missions of the countries – the ethnic homelands of national minorities of Ukraine, leading experts, representatives of public organizations of national minorities and the heads of religious organizations of Ukraine, cultural and art workers and scientists, representatives of mass media were invited to take part in the Summit.
The purposes of the Summit:
- to generalize gained 20-years experience of the ethnic and national development of Ukrainian society and the relevant state policy;
- to spread achievements of Ukraine in the international area, which may become the significant contribution to the world depository of achievements in the area of protection of rights of national minorities;
- to present adherence by Ukraine to the principles of established democracy and to the course of the European integration in relation to solution of problems of ensuring the rights of national minorities.
