January 27 is the International Holocaust Remembrance Day

Holocaust is one of the most terrible crimes against humanity equally with Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Empire. Today, there is the range of pseudo-historians and demagogues denying the fact of Holocaust and by this they indirectly justify this crime without period of limitation. However, disregard of Holocaust is the step towards its repetition. That is why, on January 26, 2007, the UN General Assembly adopted the Resolution No. 61/255 “Holocaust denial”, condemning denial of Holocaust as the historical fact. January 27 was selected as the Holocaust Remembrance Day – this day Soviet forces released the prisoners of concentration camp Oświęcim.
