Conference «Jews and Moslems against hatred and extremism»

Conference «Jews and Moslems against hatred and extremism» will be held on May 12 at 11.00 a.m. in the conference hall of "Rus" Hotel (4 Gospitalna Str, Kiev). Organizers are Ukrainian Jewish Committee, Institute of Human Rights and Prevention of Extremism and Xenophobia (IHRPEX) together with The Foundation for Ethnic Understanding (FFEU, USA). 

Conference will be held within Kiev International Interfaith Forum which was opened on March 28-29, 2011, with International conference «World religions and a civil society against hatred and extremism». 

Conference will become the first event in Ukraine where leaders of Muslim and Jewish communities of Ukraine and CIS countries will discuss actual problems of counteraction to growing Islam-phobia and anti-Semitism. 

The Foundation for Ethnic Understanding (USA) is headed by the known rabbi and public figure Mark Shnajer; the Institute of Human Rights and Prevention of Extremism Xenophobia — the People's Deputy of Ukraine Alexander Feldman.  

The following participation are invited to the conference: head of Medzhlis Mustafa Dzhemilev, president of the Islamic cultural center of Russia Abdul-Vahed Niyazov, first deputy chairman of the of Spiritual Administration of Muslims of European part of Russia Damir Muhetdinov, first deputy head of Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia, head of Spiritual Administration of Chuvash Republic, member of Public Chamber of Russian Federation Albir Krganov, head of All-Ukraine Jewish Committee Vadim Rabinovich, head Rabbi of Kiev and Ukraine Jacob Dov Blaih, Chairman of Association of Jewish Organizations and Communities of Ukraine Josif Zisels, Ambassador of Russian Federation in Ukraine Michael Zurabov, and other public figures.
