Mr. Feldman is concerned whether the security forces are ready to fight terrorism

Member of the Ukrainian Parliament, Alexander Feldman has registered a draft resolution to the Verkhovna Rada to hold parliamentary hearings concerning the readiness of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Emergency Situations to counter threats of extremism and terrorism in Ukraine.

According to the press service of the deputy, Mr. Feldman believes, that the Ukrainian society wants to see the report of the security forces officials on preparedness to protect ordinary people from terrorism and extremism.

The deputy added that given the recent tragic events in Russia and against the background of recent “extremist provocations” in Ukraine - the concern for this issue seems quite natural.

“I think, today, many are interested in the condition of protection of strategic objects, security control of warehouses that contain ammunition and chemicals, measures to improve the effectiveness of the anti-terrorist units, gaps in the national anti-terrorist legislation and how the authorized persons are prepared to ensure the safety of people at the time of Euro-2012” - said Mr. Feldman.
