UN criticizes Hungary’s new anti-immigration bill

The United Nations has criticized the new anti-immigration bill submitted in Hungary, Reuters informs.

“The proposed legislation represents an unjustified restriction on the right to freedom of association and is a worrying continuation of the government’s assault on human rights and civic space,” UN human rights spokesman Rupert Colville told during the briefing in Geneva.

In case of its passing, the bill entitles the minister of interior to ban NGOs supporting migration. The UN urges Hungarian government to guarantee the freedom of association.
