Migrant workers will transfer nearly $9 billion to Ukraine this year

It is expected the size of private money transfers to Ukraine will be at the level of nearly $9 billion this year. It was noted by the deputy chairman of the National Bank, Dmytro Solohub, during the briefing devoted to the solutions made by the management of the National Bank of Ukraine concerning the monetary policy, UNN informs. 

“In 2018, we are expecting that the size of private money transfers to Ukraine will be at the level of the previous year – nearly $9 billion,” Mr. Solohub noted answering the relevant question. 

It should be reminded that the National Bank improved the methods of calculation of the size of private money transfers to Ukraine and specified their estimated for 2015-2017. As the result, it has been found that the size of transfers from Poland was more than twice as big as previously calculated. 

In particular, according to preliminary estimates made by the National Bank of Ukraine, the size of transfers from Poland to Ukraine by official and private channels was $1.350 million in 2017, but, according to the recent estimates based on the data of the National Bank of Poland, this sum is $3,123 mln.
